El Camino Health has filed a formal application with the Town of Los Gatos to rebuild its Los Gatos Hospital, replacing the 1962 facility with a state-of-the-art, fully electric medical campus built at the same location.
The proposed campus represents an investment of more than $1billion and would feature all-private patient rooms, operating rooms, an expanded emergency department and advanced maternity, cardiac and oncology services. It will be built to meet the most current California seismic standards and target LEED Gold certification and include a healing garden and water-saving landscaping.
El Camino Health acquired the former Community Hospital of Los Gatos in 2009 and has invested more than $300 million in renovations and clinical services and provided $1.4 million in community health grants. The proposed campus continues this commitment to community, with a facility designed to meet the region’s growing healthcare needs for decades to come. Patient services will continue uninterrupted at the existing hospital throughout construction. The new hospital build is set to be complete in 2032.
